Specification instructions as a design guideline
Durat can be used to make furniture in a wide variety of shapes and sizes in precise accordance with the designer’s specifications. The material can be made into seamless furnishings by gluing and sanding. Details, such as countertop edge profiles, thicknesses or different bevels, chamfers and roundovers can be designed as desired. The sheets are glued using Durat glue. The finished seam is made nearly invisible by sanding. Durat sinks are fastened seamlessly to countertops by gluing them in from underneath. Durat sinks are cast as single pieces in moulds, thus making them as strong as possible.
Using Durat’s specifying instructions will guarantee an end result of the highest standard. Below you can download documents for Durat's EPD, M1 Emission Classification, Technical Properties and Material Safety Data Sheet.

Installation instructions
Durat can be used to make seamless units of any size by gluing with Durat glue. The seams can be sanded until invisible. At the assembly site, even long countertops can be glued into solid units.
Durat surfaces are easy to fabricate. Any surface damage can always be repaired by sanding. More significant damage (holes) can be repaired with Durat filler paste.
Durat is plastic-based composite. No harmful silicon dioxide / silica dust is generated during fabrication.
Cleaning and maintenance
Liquid dishwashing soap or a similar mild soap solution is the best choice for daily cleaning. Dried water may leave scaly deposits or other stains on the surface and must be wiped off with, for example, a microfibre cloth.
A polishing window cleaner can be used to add shine to the surface, if necessary. Universal detergent for institutional use with a pH of 7–9 is suitable for Durat surfaces.
For cleaning ingrained stains (e.g. coffee or beetroot), we recommend using a magic eraser. Scouring cream can also be used. If the stain cannot be entirely removed, use a liquid dishwasher detergent. If necessary, it can be left to work on the surface overnight. Surface does not absorb anything, stains can always be removed.
Durat surfaces withstand most types of detergents. By testing according to the instructions above, you can determine what the best cleaning agent will be, such as for institutional cleaning.
Durat will not be irreparably damaged, even by hard cleaning. It can always be restored to original shine or smoothness.
Scratches
Scratches can be removed by sanding the surface of the Durat top. Less visible streaks can be removed by light manual sanding. For sanding, we recommend using a Mirka Abralon pad with a P1000 grit. When sanding larger scratches, start with a P360 grit.
Before sanding, clean the surface of the countertop. Spray water on both the surface to be sanded and the sanding disc. Use a swirling motion when sanding, but do not apply a lot of force. The water on the surface will start to foam slightly. After sanding, dry the surface with a microfibre cloth. If the scratch is not completely removed, repeat the process.
Deeper damage can be repaired by power sanding. Start by using a disc with a P180 grit, gradually working up to higher grits. After sanding, wipe dark or brightly coloured surfaces with furniture polish (e.g., Durat Liquid Polish or similar). Apply very thin layer of polish to the surface of the countertop and then wash with a soap solution. This gives the countertop a protective film and deepens the colour.
Cracks or chipped surface
Cracks are rare and usually caused by improper mounting of the countertop. Cracks can be repaired with glue.
Chips can be easily repaired by gluing as long as the pieces that fell off are all there.
