100% recyclable: The John Nurminen Foundation's huge table was modified for the new office

When the John Nurminen Foundation moved to new premises, there was no more room for the custom-made Durat conference table, which was over four metres long and almost two metres wide. Instead, a few small tables were needed in the office rooms.

The Foundation's people contacted Durat and together they converted the old table into two new round tables, perfectly suited to the Foundation's new needs. The old table had plenty of material and was used to develop also the clever leg structures for the new tables.

The 100% recyclable Durat material is a sustainable choice for furniture. As spaces and needs change, the life cycle of Durat products can be extended in many ways. Durat can contribute to the circular economy by providing sustainable, long-lasting and adaptable solutions.

Modifying and reusing furniture is a great way to recycle Durat material. Old furniture can be modified to meet new needs and spaces. Furniture made from Durat can also be restored to like-new condition by light sanding. Or if a new use cannot be found for a piece of furniture, even after modification, its parts can be easily crushed and used as raw material for the production of new Durat material.

The John Nurminen Foundation's large meeting room once needed a really big table to seat the whole team.  Durat custom colour for the John Nurminen Foundation (D0730-JNS) was used to create a table top almost five metres long.

The foundation needed small tables for the office rooms in its new premises. Two round tables and their leg structures were made from an old Durat table top.

Durat colour D0730-JNS is being sold to benefit the John Nurminen Foundation. Ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of this special colour is always donated to the John Nurminen Foundation for the protection of the Baltic Sea.
